Our promise, in plain words: We will never sell your information. We do not share your personal information with vendors. Farmer Bloc exists to work for farmers, and that starts with how we treat your data.
Who we are
Farmer Bloc ("Farmer Bloc," "we," "us") runs farmerbloc.com, a group buying platform for farms. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@farmerbloc.com.
What we collect
When you sign up for early access, we collect your email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, the product categories you select, and whether you agreed to receive text messages. If you choose to answer the optional pricing questions, we also collect the prices you report and the year you paid them. If you sign up as a vendor, we collect your company name, contact name, email, phone number, product categories, and states served.
We also collect limited technical information automatically: the referral code or campaign tags (such as utm_source) in the link you arrived from, your browser type, and your IP address, which we use only to stop spam and abuse.
We do not ask for your full address, your acreage, or your financial information during early access.
How we use it
We use your information to: tell you when Farmer Bloc opens in your area; build buying pools around what farms in your region actually buy; understand what farmers are paying today so we can negotiate better prices; send you updates by email, and by text only if you opted in; measure which ads and referral links bring people to the site; and protect the site from spam and fraud.
What we share, and what we never share
We never sell your personal information, and we never rent it or trade it.
We do not share your personal information with vendors, manufacturers, or dealers.
To get better prices, we may tell vendors combined totals, for example "farms in northwest Iowa want 250,000 feet of 4 inch tile" or "the median price reported was 32 cents per foot." These totals never include your name, email, phone number, or anything that identifies you or your farm.
In the future, if you choose to join a pool and place an order, we will pass along only what the vendor filling that pool needs to deliver and invoice your order, such as your name, delivery address, and quantity. We will show you exactly what is shared and ask you to confirm before anything goes to a vendor.
We use a small number of service providers to run the site, such as our hosting and database provider and our email and text message providers. They process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Text messages
Text messages are optional and separate from signing up. If you opt in, we will text you about pools opening near you. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Your consent to receive texts is never a condition of signing up or buying anything, and we do not share your phone number or text opt-in with third parties for their marketing.
Cookies and ad measurement
We use a small amount of browser storage to remember the referral code or campaign tags you arrived with. We may use advertising measurement tools from platforms such as Meta to see whether our ads lead to signups. You can limit this through your browser and ad platform settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while Farmer Bloc is operating and you remain on our list. If you ask us to delete it, we will delete it within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records by law.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, stop texts by replying STOP, and ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@farmerbloc.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Security
We protect your information with access controls and encryption in transit, and only a small number of people at Farmer Bloc can view signup data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Children
Farmer Bloc is for adults running or working on farm operations. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use or share your information, we will update the date above and notify you by email before the change takes effect.
